About Osmond Mcleod Architects

Based in Tascott, Osmond McLeod Architects serve the Central Coast of New South Wales. We specialise in new homes and extensions and can travel to you for an obligation-free chat about your project at a time that is convenient for you.

My love for architecture and design continues to grow.  Prior to starting my own practice, I gained extensive experience with multi- residential and commercial projects, but my passion lies in helping people create great places to live, play and enjoy. I think my obsession with architecture developed from putting things together as a child. Be it Lego or models, I loved assembling and creating anything and everything. Now, my primary aim is to work with you to create a place that feels uniquely yours; that reflects your personality, your flair, and your way of life.

We work from our recently-completed home office. My wife and I have and have been through the trials of designing and building our own home together and so we understand the process all to well. We are here to help, so if you have considered building or renovating, or you are looking to create your dream home from scratch, please feel free to contact us.

My Experience

My experience covers a number of Architectural fields, from high rise commercial to education and industrial, but I find designing a home for someone to enjoy to be the most satisfying.

2012 onwards

I left MBMO in 2012 to start my own firm primarily to be closer to my wife and our children following the birth of our second child, Lilah.  This was not a difficult decision as it aligned with my personal desire to work for myself and to design properties in the NSW Central Coast region as diverse and beautiful as our surroundings, from the beach to the bush.

Since starting OMA, I have focused on new homes and extensive renovations. Notable works built to date include:

  • 98 Old Gosford Road, Wamberal
  • 12 Agate Avenue, Pearl Beach.
  • Hughes Street, Point Clare
  • Coraki Place, Ourimbah

A viewing session for of some of my works can be arranged upon request.

Notable works currently about to commence, or under construction include:

  • The Esplanade Umina Beach
  • 135 empire Bay Drive, Empire Bay
  • 38 Brush Road Wamberal
  • Dual Occupancy – Point Clare
  • Alterations and Additions Pearl Beach

Core Values

  • DESIGN FUNCTION AND FLAIR – Each home should reflect its owners. It should feel inviting, welcoming and be just for you. We can go as traditional, contemporary, or out-there as suits you, and I commit to working with you on the internal and external design until it is the best it can be for you.
  • HARMONISED INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR: We offer a seamless inclusion of interior design. By developing the architectural design alongside the interior, we hope to give you a beautiful home with a true wow factor that is also a home for you to live in and enjoy.
  • COOPERATION AND FLEXIBILITY– As an architect, my role is to transform your ideas, thoughts and hopes into a home, and this is a process we work though together. Although I can certainly impose my architectural “vision” upon you, my preference is to always listen to what you want and what you need, and develop that into a reality that combines aspirational architecture with liveability.
  • INNOVATION – I pride myself on running the latest three- dimensional modelling software to assist with your understanding of how the design is progressing. Designs and ideas can be shared in 3D and shared through virtual “walk-throughs”, rather than relying solely on 2D drawings.
  • LOCAL KNOWLEDGE & CONNECTIONS – I am familiar with Central Coast Councils their requirements; the rules we must follow, and the rules we might stretch. I also keep a close team of local consultants and builders in my network who can help us bring your project to reality.
  • LANDSCAPES – The addition of beautiful landscape work is critical to any design. We can also incorporate of function into your landscaping. Systems that work to improve the sustainability of your home can developed with you.
  • BUDGET – Sticking to a budget is critical when building your new home. I work with your requirements to ensure we can deliver your home within your allowable budget.
  • SUSTAINABLE BUILDING – Wherever possible, I design for energy efficiency and source from local and/or sustainable materials. Your site, orientation and typography are critical to successful, low energy home.
